Christmas 2010

I was terrible about taking pictures this year! But, we had a great time celebrating with my parents and sister and will remember:

Baking Christmas cookies with Aunt Ellen (mainly just stealing the dough to eat it)

 Decorating them
 Oops, got too many sprinkles!

The finished product - we left a few for Santa on Christmas Eve!
Before heading to Christmas Eve service at church
Playing Christmas carols with daddy on the piano
 Opening presents on Christmas morning

Playing with an tree house tent that Santa brought!
Eating LOTS of yummy food (here Saylor was ready before the table had even been set!)

Seven Years

Seven years ago today, Matt and I tied the knot.
I think about that day with such fond memories...we had so much fun celebrating!
I think about the past seven years, and I'm even more sure now of what I knew that day.
It's more solidified in my mind with each passing year and with each season life brings.
That I am a lucky girl, that I married a very good man.
There is no one I'd rather walk through each day with.
No one I'd rather have by my side.
I love you, Matt.

Ten things I am loving right now

1. My heating pad. Been meeting up on the couch with this trusty old friend many nights lately. I'm thinking that the fact that my back is aching and I'm only at 18 weeks along does not bode well for the next 22...? A good excuse to blog rather than get something useful done though, right?

2. My brand new, just waiting to be written in, 2011 planner. Call me old fashioned, but I just can't get on the calendar-on-my-phone band wagon. There is something so satisfying about writing things down, flipping the pages and visually being able to see it all in one place.
3. The King's Speech. Matt and I saw this movie last night and really enjoyed it. And not just because I am a speech therapist. :) I love movies with really good acting and a story line that everyone can enjoy...

 4. Our Pastor's sermon today. (I will link it once it's up). He talked about truly getting what Christmas is about...(but not your typical sermon on that topic)...helps me put things in perspective for sure.

5. Our Christmas tree. Just makes me happy every time I walk by it!

6. That I decided to hang up Christmas cards this year, rather than put them in a basket. Also makes me happy every time I walk by, and is a frequent topic of conversation for Saylor, who LOVES to look at all her friends' pictures and talk about them! And really, is there anything better than checking the mail in the weeks leading up to Christmas? So fun to get happy cards from people you love!

7. Adele. I hadn't heard of her till recently but man she is so good.

8. Dave Barnes Christmas album

9. The Sing Off. This show is definitely a guilty pleasure for Matt and me these days. :) Don't think many people out there watch it but it's just fun, and luckily only on for a few short weeks so we can't waste too much time. We are big Ben Folds fans and love hearing what he has to say to each group.

10. Saylor's new Christmas monkey pj's. Just love them!

Pictures

My friend Andi is starting up her own photography business and the other day she "practiced" on Saylor and me. She is VERY talented and we got some wonderful pictures! It was a really cold and windy day but we had a lot of fun anyways...Thank you so much, Andi!

Can't believe my girl is about to be TWO in only three weeks....how did this happen????!!!!!!

 I love her tummy! :)

Saylor and Santa 2010

We took Saylor to see Santa this weekend. She talked about him all day with excitement. As we stood in line she repeatedly asked for him and said yes when we asked if she wanted to sit on his lap.

Of course, when her turn came, this is what happened:

Luckily she calmed down right afterwards (with the help of a candy cane). :)

Hmmm...the whole thing seemed vaguely familiar....here's last  year!
