Sneak preview
Atlanta
I went to Atlanta this past weekend to visit Molly, my good friend and college roomie. It was so much fun to explore a fun new city and especially to have time to catch up with Molly! There's nothing like old friends who know you well and who you can pick up right where you left off...a blessing! :)

Matt and Saylor had a good weekend by themselves in Dallas, too. Of course Matt handled everything great, although he did seem a little bit tired when he picked me up at the airport Sunday evening. :) But who wouldn't be...? Handling a baby by yourself for 48 hours is exhausting for anyone!

Progress
Well, Saylor's made some progress with her crawling since the last video I posted. She still isn't very efficient with it, (it's more like a crawl/roll/scooch) but at least can get the job done! It seems like the hardest part was getting from sitting up to lying on her tummy to start the crawl. She kept getting her feet tucked under her and took awhile to figure that one out. :)
She's also been very into sitting up in her crib and pulling up on the bumper (which of course is way more exciting than actually sleeping in the crib). Here's how I often find her these days:

This nap is way over mom!

Good thing we moved the mattress down when we did!

Here she is a couple weeks ago...I'm attempting to take her 7 month picture, but she was much more interested in eating the card than posing next to it. Who wouldn't be? :)

Here she is just bein' her cute self...out for a walk in the stroller.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

White coat
A couple weeks back my sister had a white coat ceremony...a big step in her journey to becoming a Physicians Assistant. The ceremony signifies that she and her classmates are finished with their coursework and now are onto their clinical rotations...officially adorned in their white coats! Sadly, this was the weekend we were in Blanco, so we weren't able to be there. BUT, we were cheering her on in spirit and Ellen we are SO PROUD of you! You have accomplished so much and now you get to put your knowledge to actual work...the fun part! You are going to be unbelievably good at this and I am so excited to see what area of medicine you are most interested in!

Even though her rotations will be hard, stressful, and demanding (I would immediately fail the part when you have to do night rotations!) one good part is that she will be doing one four week rotation in Lewisville. This means that for the whole month of January 2010 she will be living with us...YAY!!!!! So excited about that!

i love this
I have loved this video ever since I saw it on my friend Ellen Barrett's blog. I recently rediscovered and decided to steal it from her. Watch this when you have time and turn it up...enjoy...it's so amazing.
unhappy camper
Somedays this is a typical scene at our house around 6 p.m. Soooo tired. Soooo hungry. And soooo dramatic...

Patty pan
Matt and I have been part of a local organic food coop for awhile now. We get a bunch of great produce every two weeks and I enjoy trying different things and knowing that it's all organic. This week in our batch we got patty pan squash...aren't they the cutest things you've ever seen? I had never seen them before. Taste just like summer squash but so much cuter; almost too cute to eat! :)

Blanco
We had a lot of fun this weekend in Blanco with Matt's entire family. It's fun to have everyone together and see how much the kids have changed, plus, it's such a beautiful, peaceful setting. We did lots of sitting, eating, swimming, and playing with the kiddos (as well as one walk/run with some hills that almost killed me). Even good ole nervous nilly Harry seemed to have a good time! Here is my favorite picture from the weekend: Saylor with all her cousins. Can't you tell that she's not having ANY fun? :)

(Connor, Garrett, Saylor, Miles, and Hudson). They are all such great boys and so much fun to be around...I only wish we got to see them more often!
