Wedding Pics!!!!!!!!!

The honeymooners are back! I was so excited to talk to Ellen on the phone today, finally! Here's one picture of the happy couple...could she be any prettier?

Saylor Says

Today, Matt came home with a chocolate shake from Sonic. Saylor of course wanted to share it. She looked at me, holding the shake and said: "Mommy, this is for me and daddy, but you can have this"...(pointing to a spaghetti squash on the counter).

Saylor turned 3 on January 5th! Time has gone so quickly since we brought our baby girl home from the hospital. In some ways this birthday snuck up on me but in many ways it seems she has been a big girl for a long time now. We had fun celebrating her on her big day and two days later at a little bday party at our house.

Matt and I snuck balloons into her room while she slept and then surprised her in the morning.

We borrowed a bounce house from our friends, the Satterfields and it was an enormous hit all day and for the party too.

Saylor LOVES curious george, so that was our theme. Here is the invitation (from etsy). I covered up our address with a piece of paper since I don't know how to photoshop--fancy, huh?

This girl is so loved by both sides of her family. They were all so sweet to come back so soon after making the Christmas trip and two weeks before my sister's wedding. And everyone was an enormous help to me on the day of the actual party. We love you all!

Happy Birthday, Say! Your dad and I can't begin to put into words how much we love you and how much joy your three years of life have brought us. We love you!

Seven Months Old

Gray is almost eight months old! This past month has definitely been the most changes we have seen yet from our little guy. He is like a new little person now that he is so mobile. He spends all day crawling around and has also learned to stand/pull up. (Goodbye, parental freedom)! We joke that he is constantly in motion, but it's pretty much true. Unless he is asleep or strapped into something, he is not content to sit still. He LOVES to pull up and then just look around, smiling, like he is quite proud of himself. I am a bit sad that I can't really hold him on my lap anymore...he just wants to get down and GO. :)

Other changes he's made this month:
-Dropped his late afternoon cat nap. Now naps around 10 and 2, although I am struggling to get both kids' naps coordinated and find the best time to leave the house for an outing
-Eating more variety of pureed baby foods and starting more solids (puffs, banana, bread, etc.)
-Still four bottles per day 6-8 ounces. Still on prevacid
-Still no teeth
-Still lots of runny noses and congestion...poor guy :( Thankfully they don't seem to bother him too much.
-His demeanor is still very easy and happy. He usually just goes with the flow for the most part. Right now his personality seems to be kind of quiet...basically the the opposite of his big sis!
-He is vocalizing and babbling a bit more, but still on the quiet side
-Had two weeks of diarrhea which stopped when we switched him to soy formula. Apparently you can be temporarily lactose intolerant? We will try to slowly switch back to regular in a couple weeks and see if it works
-Other things he loves besides crawling and standing are being around his big sister, meal time, playing/laughing/tickling/peekaboo, when we come get him from his crib (big grin, often standing up, waiting for us). And we discovered he LOVES to swing at the park.
-Doesn't love to have diaper changed, clothes changed, or be confined in anything because he just wants to move. I guess this is a boy thing...it seems more exaggerated than it did after Saylor learned to move. Currently my least favorite part of the day is bath time. It is literally DANGEROUS because he WILL NOT hold still. He dives bombs for the drain and flips and squirms and is so slippery. It is pretty much impossible to give him a bath without a partner to help...so I always wait for Matt to come home!

Mommy, one day a boy is going to marry me! (we've been having lots of conversations about weddings since my sister's is so soon)

Yeah, and he's going to put a ring on THIS finger (holding her middle finger up at me. What's his name, Mommy?

Well maybe when I go to his house I can ask him...


A few days after she and Matt went to the Children's Museum with Gammy and Pop Pop and I stayed home with Gray:

Maybe next time you can come with us to the museum mommy. And Gray too. And Harry and Morty too.
Maybe me and Gray can come, but probably not H and M because they are animals and animals can't come in the museum.
Why not mommy?
Because only humans are allowed in the museum.
Well. Maybe one day when Harry and Morty get human they can come to the museum too!

Christmas 2011

Here are some pictures of our Christmas weekend. We had a great time and felt very lucky to have both sides of our family make the trip to Dallas to see us.

Saylor was very into Gray's toys. Our kids were beyond spoiled by their grandparents and aunt and uncle. I think I am going to put some toys away and pull them out in June!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Santa brought everything she wanted! A dollhouse with a ladder, a Rody and some books. ;)

 

 

Gray got his first baseball hat and glove from Matt. Unfortunately, he also got his first terrible diaper rash. We got desperate and started giving him lots of open air booty time. :)

 

 

We have already watched this 3 times. It is seriously the best movie ever...it appeals equally to a two year old and an adult!

 

Say had some mad bed head Christmas morning. :)

 

My sweet hubby needed a nap. I can't believe he can actually fall asleep like this...one of the traits I most envy in him. ;)
