Michigan
My mom, Saylor, and I just returned from our Michigan trip last night...it was a success! It was fun to spend time with our extended family and very special for Saylor and her great-grandma to meet one another! Saylor did great on the plane both ways (although there's no way I could have done it without my mom's help- thanks, mom)! We enjoyed some shopping, strawberry picking, good eating, and just hanging out in general. Here is a picture of the four generations:

Happy Father's Day - belated
Matt - A little late with this post, but still wanted to wish you a Happy Father's Day via the blog. Watching you become a dad has been awesome. No surprise that you are a great one, but I didn't really get how much fun going through this with you would be. Thanks for everything you do for me and Saylor...we are both so lucky to have you! We enjoyed celebrating with you on Sunday! Love you!
P.S. Also, a belated Happy Father's Day to both of our dad's! :)

5 Months!
Once again, it's hard to believe another month has flown by. Here are some of Saylor's favorite things at 5 months:
Going on walks (this particular walk was with her buddy Gavin).
Hanging around with Harry. And grabbing fistfuls of Harry's fur.
Playing with her monkey. Seriously she loves this thing (thank you Clayton and Elizabeth).
Chewing on her fingers.
Chewing on her toes.
Chewing on her toes even if her shoes are on. (Teething seems to last FOREVER! Surely those teeth will start showing up soon)!?!?
Playing in her exersaucer (or "wheel-around" as Grampa Dave calls it).
Anything with her daddy. :)
We love you Say! I can't even remember what life was like before 5 months ago! I have to remind myself every day to slow down and enjoy each minute, because I know they will continue to go by so fast. So thankful for you.

Peachy
If I am honest (which I usually am, sometime to my detriment), sometimes I hate this blog. All blogs. Sometimes they make everything seem so...peachy. While I know at least in our house things are certainly not always peachy. And sometimes I am not in a peachy place.
I am so far from perfect. I love being a wife and a mom, but there are some days that I am terrible at it. Most days are good ones. But some days, the weight of the un-peachiness creeps in a little bit.
You know how you can hear something over and over, but only sometimes do you GET it? I've been thinking about these words a lot lately:
"The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love and good to all who call on Him. He opens His hand to satisfy the desires of every living thing. He is near to all who call on Him in truth. He hears their cry and saves them." Psalm 145
I really believe these words. And I am thankful when I can stop, be still, and be reminded of the bigger picture. And then I feel a little bit more peachy. :)
