This fall is proving to be a very busy one for our family. Today, I am thankful for a few minutes to enjoy some hot chocolate just me and her. I love this girl so much.

The Fair!

One fall tradition I am starting to really love in Dallas is the Fair! What a fun place, and even more so as our kids get older and can really enjoy it. This year was super fun because we went with the Dallas family...Saylor and Mae had so much fun together!

Checking out some turkeys

 Petting a goat

 A miniature horse!
"look mommy, that cow is taking a bath!"
Sweet baby chicks...some were hatching right in front of our eyes!
This boy LOVES to play in the dirt

 Working on the kiddie farm

 He just melts my heart!
 Planting their seeds

All four kiddos riding a tractor!
 Sweet friends

I think Gray was thirsty? ;)

Waiting on big sisters to finish their ride
 Mae and Jason having fun
 Ferris Wheel pics

The girls loved this swing ride

Hook Em! I think this was the biggest longhorn I've ever seen up close.

Vacation

Last week our family took our summer vacation...better late than never, right?! We headed down to Austin to spend a couple days with old friends on the lake and from there went to the Hill Country to spend some quiet time just the four of us at JoAnne's ranch house. We did this last year and enjoyed it so much we knew we wanted to come back again. It was wonderful!

Gray will kill me for this picture one day! We put him in his sisters hand me down pink, skirted life vest. :)

Our kids were both so tired on the boat the second day! Here is Say napping on Becky.

Tubing! The boat stayed in idol the whole time. :)

At the ranch: we did smores two nights this year. :)
Yummmm! G's first smore experience = really messy melted marshmallow!
We explored Pedernales Falls one day

Back at the ranch, a nature walk!

Along our way we met this guy: Randy the Rattlesnake, at which point we turned right around!
Saylor's expressing exactly how I felt about Randy
Saylor loved the slip - n - slide!

 G did not :(

 Checking out the llamas:

The view of the pool; it is so pretty!

This year, Matt and Saylor made it the whole night in the tent! Saylor balked at one point but Matt told her they needed to "finish what they started" and she obliged. I love that he's already teaching her lessons like that! Here we were the next morning just playing around.

Enjoying lunch at the Red Bud Cafe in Blanco
We had a great trip!
