Saylor Says

A conversation with Saylor today after school:
Saylor, did you take a nap today at school?
No.
Just rested quietly?
Yes. But I talked a little bit.
You did? Well you need to be very quiet during rest time so your friends can sleep. Did your teachers tell you to be quiet?
Yes. But I still talked.
Sorry to all the parents whose kids couldn't nap because mine was jabbering.

Matt told Saylor he had to fly to New York for the day. She responded: "That's ok daddy, if I want to make pancakes I'll just do it with mommy."

While we were sitting on the front porch she pointed to a neighbor across the street mowing the yard. "Mommy, that daddy does not look good."
"What do you mean?"
"He has hair like this (flattening hers down) and his nose is like this (gesturing for a big nose)"
Guess we need to work on what is kind and unkind to say!

Me to Saylor: "Can I tell you something?"
Her: Sure honey, go ahead

Saylor, why don't you like to be under the covers at bedtime?
Because mommy, I like to feel the breeze sometimes!

Mommy, my friends are going to be soooooooooooo impressed with my haircut.

Mommy, I saw Miss Amanda at school today but her hair was SHORT. Like she got a hair cut like mine.

Mommy,  it's ok if you want to wear your hair down while you work out.

The hair obsession continues

Mommy, how bout if I have this for dinner and then one cookie and a tiny little bit of ice cream and then I promise I'll stop being high maintenance.
Yes, I frequently tell my daughter that she is being high maintenance. At least she's learning self awareness!

And just for laughs, here's a picture of bathtime tonight. Gotta love the simultaneous meltdown.
