It was interesting to re-live the experience we went through with Saylor just 9 months ago. Same place, same time, same ENT, same anesthesiologist, etc. But, there was one big difference...everything was so much easier this time! Saylor was almost 3 when we did her tubes and there was a big contrast that G was only just 15 months. He didn't even whimper when they took him from us, so there was no need for that terrible Versed to knock him out, which meant he barely even cried when he woke up. (To Saylor's credit, she was of course much more aware of what was going on and she was also much more sick at the time). But it was nice that he wasn't scared before hand or so out of it after. It took me something crazy like 3 hours to convince Saylor to let me put the drops in her ears, so I was prepared for it being a hard job and asked my friend Lauren to help me hold Gray down. But he just laid there and let me put them right in!
The whole fam woke up at 5 am for our check in at 6. Fun times! Sweet Matt had a really busy morning at work but he still made a point to be there through the surgery and to see Gray for a few minutes afterward.
I couldn't really tell how much of it Saylor remembered. She did hold Gray's hand on the way there and told him he would be just fine. :) She was sweet and helpful afterwards in recovery, trying to make sure he had enough apple juice.
